How are Gerald and Angel like many young people today? How are they different? What strengths are found in them that help them to survive the situation in which they live?
Gerald and Angel are like many young people today because they go through the same things, abuse. Unlike most young people Angel and Gerald had Mr. Washington for help. He helped them through a lot. Most young people don't have someone like Mr. Washington to get them through the abuse. Mr. Washington lets Gerald sleep over and gives him rides, he does the same for Angel. Also, lots of young people are not brave enough to tell to get help or aren't sure how. Angel and Gerald also had each other, Gerald protected Angel. Angel helps Gerald get through a lot and she makes him happy. I don't believe that they would not be able to survive without each other.
