Jordan had just gone to jail, and Monique doesn't yet believe that Gerald and Angel aren't lying about Jordan doing things to Angel. Gerald had friends now, and was on the basketball team at school. Mr. Washington let Gerald know that he will always be there for him, anytime and any day. Angel wants to go to a dance school to get better, and noticed. Monique would forget the groceries or things from time to time, life for her without Jordan was hard. Just when their lives are getting better, Gerald and Angel have to face Jordan coming back. Monique has already forgiven Jordan for everything but Gerald can never forget about what Jordan had done, even though he has been behaving himself. Angel is still uncomfortable around Jordan, but has started to trust him a little, but still is very cautious around him. Jordan never gets to be alone with Angel, and always needs someone there to watch. Jordan only ever speaks to Angel if he has a question or wants to praise her. Gerald still won't ever forgive Jordan for anything, even though Jordan has been watching himself, Gerald still doesn't trust him.
