I think its great that Angel has Gerald to take care of her and help her if it wasn’t to him, she wouldn’t have been able to get away from Jordan’s abuse. I think its even more great that Angel has some one like Kiara to talk to and hang out with and get a break from Jordan when she goes to kiara’s house, it is always good to have a friend to talk too.. I think that it’s nice Angel gets to dance. I don’t like that Jordan is back... He better not abuse her. Monique is in denial of her children’s abuse, and even her own’s because she is afraid of losing, her life pretty much revolved around Jordan, she doesn’t want to hear that yet again, she has made another mistake. I’m slightly surprised that Monique is back on drugs. But she is so unstable I wasn’t all that surprised, however that means Gerald and Angel are one less ways out of the abuse. If Monique wasn’t on drugs she had a chance to realize all the issues, but the drugs I’m sure, are deluding her mind. She wouldn’t just wake up and realize ok lets leave him, but she might have built up courage to leave him over time, but not anymore. i think it’s all up to Mr. Washington and the children, to escape the abuse. I have no idea if they can save Monique from Jordan and the drugs. There has been a lot of death so far, maybe she or Jordan will die. I agree with Marie because it is good that Kiara is around for Angel to talk to, an escape Jordan’s abuse. It’s great of Mr. Washington to help them so much but honestly, I think he has helped them too much, most people wouldn’t have done as much as he did. I know the kids wouldn’t take advantage of him but how much more can he continue to help these kids? I think Gerald has grown up (mentally) too much too fast. It’s from all the abuse. I found a song by destiny’s child, on abuse. Made me think of Angel, with sexual and mental abuse. By a father figure and anger at him, and not being believed. As well as struggling through life, and not seeing her true beauty and worth.
The Story of Beauty- Destiny’s Child
Please dry your eyes, young girl
Don't cry, you're beautiful
It's not your fault, young girl
Don't cry, you're beautiful
You're not the one to blame
Soon it will be okay
One day you'll realize
Your beauty
It was a Saturday
This cold afternoon
Inside this house there lived a frightened young girl
She didn't know what she should do
'cause she missed her mother so
She was left home all alone with her step father
Please dry your eyes, young girl
Don't cry, you're beautiful
It's not your fault, young girl
Don't cry, you're beautiful
You're not the one to blame
Soon it will be okay
One day you'll realize
Your beauty
He touched her places
That he shouldn't have touched
He did some things to her
That he shouldn't have done
So she ran into her room
Paged her mother 9-1-1
And the tragedy began
For this young girl
She told her mother, her family, and friends
No one believed her 'cause before this happened
She was filled with hate and anger
Towards her step father
'cause he took her mother from her when they married
Please dry your eyes, young girl
Don't cry, you're beautiful
It's not your fault, young girl
Don't cry, you're beautiful
You're not the one to blame
Soon it will be okay
One day you'll realize
Your beauty
She looked for her father
in the men that she saw
Thought that all she had to offer
Was her body
No one to figure out why
This young girl would live her life
In such pain and unhappiness
She was so beautiful
She rebelled and one day the young girl fell in love with another man like her stepdad
He abused her emotionally and made her feel like she was worthless
Hope one day she realize
And see the beauty in her eyes
All she needs is prayer and strength
She's beautiful
Please dry your eyes, young girl
Don't cry, you're beautiful
It's not your fault, young girl
Don't cry, you're beautiful
You're not the one to blame
Soon it will be okay
One day you'll realize
Your beauty
Don't cry, you're beautiful
It's not your fault, young girl
Don't cry, you're beautiful
You're not the one to blame
Soon it will be okay
One day you'll realize
Your beauty
Don't hold your head down low
You've got so much, so much, so much, so much, so much to be proud of
You can still live your life
I promise you you'll survive
Girl I love you
You're beautiful
